The Oppo Find N5 will not only boast an ultra-slim design and flagship specs, it will also have pretty useful software features one of which is remote access for Macs. The feature was confirmed today by Pete Lau, the company's chief product officer.

Oppo's Find N5 foldable is one of the most anticipated smartphones this quarter. Scheduled for launch on February 20, Oppo has been revealing bits of details about the device ahead of its release. While most of the details revealed in the past have been hardware-related, the latest info which comes from Pete Lau, Oppo's chief product officer and founder of OnePlus, talks about a software feature.

In a post made on X, Lau revealed that the Oppo Find N5 will have a feature that allows users to remotely control their Macs. This will provide real-time file viewing and editing, which will enhance productivity, the post said.

An attached image to the post shows an Oppo Find N5 connected to a MacBook. On the former is a screen menu for Remote PC Control which shows a connected Mac that appears to be tied to the same account used on the Find N5. The menu also shows users will be able to add more than one remote device. On the other hand, the screen on the Mac shows that users will also be able to connect their Find N5 to their MacBook and access files on the phone. Pete Lau said more details of the feature will be revealed at the event.

In a separate teaser posted on company's Weibo page, the Find N5 is shown displaying the desktop of a connected Mac on one half of the screen while the second half of the screen displays a keyboard, thus allowing owners to use their phone like a laptop. It is expected that Oppo will reveal more software-related features of the Oppo Find N5 at the event on Thursday as the software of a phone is equally as important as the hardware parts.

There is also the possibility that some of these features may be made available for other devices. For example, the Open Canvas multitasking feature of the OnePlus Open (curr. available on Amazon for $1,299.99) was eventually released for other devices such as the OnePlus Pad and the OnePlus 12.
