Alongside the Find N5 foldable smartphone, Oppo will also announce a new smartwatch that has been dubbed the Oppo Watch X2. Like its predecessor, the Oppo Watch X (also sold as the OnePlus Watch 2), the Oppo Watch X2 is expected to be available in some markets as the OnePlus Watch 3. Now, Oppo has confirmed the launch date for its smartwatch and also revealed its design.
The Oppo Watch X2 will be announced on the 20th of February, the same date the Find N5 foldable will be unveiled. Oppo has not only revealed the launch date, but has also released a poster that shows the design of the smartwatch.
The image shows the Oppo Watch X2 in a blue colorway with a matching leather strap. Oppo has made some noticeable changes to the design of the smartwatch when compared to its predecessor.
For starters, the bezel has been redesigned and now has indentations around the circumference and a tachymeter. Also, unlike its predecessor, the Oppo Watch X2 has a functional rotating crown that can be used to navigate the menu, zoom in and out, and for volume control.
Oppo has also changed the materials used for the watch. The case is made of titanium alloy and not stainless steel like the Oppo Watch X. The Oppo Watch X2 will be available in at least two colors at launch, in addition to the blue shown in the poster, there will also be a black variant of the watch.
Despite the watch's launch date being almost two weeks away, there are already several hands-on photos online. Oppo has also begun accepting pre-orders for the Oppo Watch X2 on its online store, and those who pre-order will receive an extra charger as a gift.
The Oppo Watch 2 isn't different only on the outside, it is also equipped with a handful of new features such as support for ECG measurement and temperature measurement. It has also been reported that the 46mm watch will have a 631mAh battery, a big jump from the 500mAh battery capacity of the previous generation. Other features are eSIM support, dual-band GPS, 5ATM water resistant rating, sapphire crystal glass, and 10W charging.
