Rumors suggest that Honor is about to launch another version of the Watch 5 in China. The original smartwatch was on show at IFA 2024 and rolled out across several markets worldwide in November.
A report from Weibo tipster @WangzaiKnowsEverything (@旺仔百事通) indicates that a new smartwatch known by model number TUR-L19 is an upgraded version of the Honor Watch 5. This device was certified by China’s telecommunications certification authority, TENAA, in December. The related product image shows a watch with a round face and octagonal bezel, a marked difference from the rectangular watch face of the Honor Watch 5.
Several features are also listed in the TENAA database. These include support for eSIM, Bluetooth calling, and satellite positioning technologies like GPS, BeiDou and GLONASS. On top of this, it is said to run MagicOS and has NFC. The watch is equipped with a 480mAh battery and is recharged wirelessly. Based on these features, it is hard to tell what upgrades this new smartwatch would offer over the original Chinese version of the Honor Watch 5. The official name, release date and pricing of this wearable remains to be seen.
