With the release of watchOS 11.3, Apple continues its tradition of honoring the Black History Month by releasing a 2025 Black Unity collection. Apparently inspired by the "rhythm of humanity", this collection includes:
- A new Unity Rhythm watch face.
- A special-edition Black Unity Sport Loop for Apple Watches.
- Themed wallpapers for iPhones and iPads.
According to Apple, the Unity Rhythm watch face features a unique design with red, green, and yellow threads that intertwine to form dynamic numbers. These threads appear as abstract brushstrokes but transform into clear numerals when the Apple Watch's gyroscope detects the user is lifting their wrist. The watch face also includes rhythmic chimes that play every hour and half-hour, adding a subtle musical element to the experience.
The Black Unity Sport Loop is available in 42mm and 46mm sizes, and is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 or newer, Apple Watch SE, and Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Ultra 2 (46mm band only). Priced at $49, it can be ordered through the online Apple Store and will be found in Apple Store locations beginning this week.
The update resolves a HealthKit issue where user-granted authorization for certain data types might not persist, potentially causing apps to lose access to data and repeatedly prompt users for authorization.
To install watchOS 11.3, you’ll need an iPhone XS or later running iOS 18.3. The update is compatible with Apple Watch SE (2nd generation), Apple Watch Series 6 and newer models, as well as all Apple Watch Ultra devices.
