Oppo Find X8 Ultra: Global release plans reportedly shelved with flagship set for April launch
Reports last week claimed Oppo was readying its flagship smartphone for the year, the Find X8 Ultra, to debut next month after the Xiaomi 15 Ultra launch. Those reports may have been too enthusiastic, however, in light of new information.
As revealed by Oppo Find series Product Manager Zhou Yibao, the Find X8 Ultra is scheduled to launch in April, not March as previously rumored. Supposedly, the flagship phone was never planned to be unveiled in March, so this isn't a postponement. Leaker Digital Chat Station claims otherwise, however.
According to Digital Chat Station, the Oppo Find X8 Ultra will arrive with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+. That chipset hasn't been released, but will likely be unveiled next month prior to Oppo's event—an event in which Oppo will debut other smartphones including a 6.31-inch premium device, reported to be badged as the "Find X8 Mini" or "Find X8 Next".
Interestingly, a different report claims Oppo will not launch the Find X8 Ultra globally. The company brought both the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro to the global market and it's been taken for granted that the Find X8 Ultra, being the flagship model, would be sold globally as well. Per leaker Yogesh Brar, however, the company has now canceled its plans for a global launch of the device. That said, it's unknown if the Find X8 Ultra will remain exclusive to China or get a Find N5-esque "global" launch in markets like Singapore.
