The Oppo Find X7 Ultra is a flagship Android smartphone with quad rear cameras, not 1 but 2 of which are cutting-edge periscope zoom lenses. It also has a multi-spectral camera for its Hasselblad Color Calibration feature.
All of that hardware is thought to be retained in the supposedly imminent X8 Ultra - although all of them will be of an improved variety, according to the latest leak.
The next-gen dual periscope zoom array is thought to be made up of cameras supporting the X7 Ultra's ~3x and 6x optical zoom levels - although they might both have generationally enlarged "equivalent aperture" ratings for up to 150% greater light intake, according to the prolific tipster Digital Chat Station.
The 3x lens might be approximately f/2.1 (compared to f/2.6 in the X7 Ultra's corresponding camera), while the 6x zoom might be closer to f/3 - a potentially substantial change from the f/4.3 spec of its predecessor.
The upgrade might also explain the X8 Ultra's alleged design change, in which 1 of its zoom lenses is apparently the highlight of its round camera hump. Then again, the housing is also thought to feature a Sony LYT-900 1-inch sensor as a main camera.
Those shooters might be joined by the Samsung ISOCELL JN5 as an ultrawide-angle lens.
The X8 Ultra is also slated to have something else that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra or even the allegedly up-to-200MP Vivo X200 Ultra will not: a completely flat display.
