As OLED gaming monitors have started taking over, the tech has become significantly cheaper, driving down prices for affordable OLED displays, like the Acer Predator X27U. At the time of writing, the Acer Predator X27U is discounted by a massive 50% off the standard retail price at Amazon, bringing the 27-inch OLED gaming monitor down to just $499.99.
It's unclear whether this price will hold or if this is a limited-time Amazon deal, but the X27U presents a strong value proposition for both gamers and productivity users at this price.

While Acer claims the Predator X27U delivers 1000 nits of peak brightness, a recent RTings technical review found different results. According to this in-depth testing, the X27U was capable of up to 674 nits peak brightness in small spots in HDR scenes. Sustained brightness was decent, though, at 372 nits in a 25% window, making it bright enough for both indoor use and HDR scenes.
Likewise, the review found that colour space coverage and colour reproduction were also good, with 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space and 102.3% coverage of the sRGB colour space. In SDR mode, dE values were also rather good after some calibration, making the Predator X27U a viable option for entry-level colour-sensitive work, like photo or video editing.
The included stand also includes tilt-, swivel-, and height-adjustment for additional ergonomics. The 27-inch size, 1440p resolution, and solid gaming and productivity chops make the Predator X27U a great entry-point into a gaming monitor, especially thanks to the Amazon deal bringing its price down.
