The UltraGear 27G850A-B has taken a rather circuitous route to a global release. Initially, the monitor was spotted in a Chinese language review, which appeared online at the end of last year. Following that, LG Japan shared a few details about the same monitor before releasing it shortly thereafter.
While LG then revealed pricing and availability for three new UltraGear OLED monitors in Europe, it decided against providing similar details for the UltraGear 27G850A-B. Now, the company has opened pre-orders in the Netherlands without warning, where it can be purchased for €899, including taxes.
Stranger still, Paradigit has already discounted the monitor to €799, although this price is presented as its MSRP. Regardless of price, the UltraGear 27G850A-B outputs natively at 4K with a 240 Hz refresh rate. Like the UltraGear OLED 32GS95UE (curr. $1,096.99 on Amazon) before it, the UltraGear 27G850A-B can boost its refresh rate to 480 Hz by dropping its resolution to 1080p, which LG refers to as 'Dual-Mode' technology.
The UltraGear 27G850A-B also offers 1 ms GtG response times, 99% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and 600 nits peak brightness when viewing HDR content. Other features include DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity, as well as AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Nvidia G-Sync and VESA Adaptive Sync support. Based on the three retail listings linked below, the UltraGear 27G850A-B should begin shipping between March 13 and March 17 in the Netherlands. There is no word yet on availability across the wider Eurozone, though.
