The Alienware AW3425DW is one of several new gaming monitors that Dell has introduced at Mobile World Congress 2025 (MWC 2025) in Barcelona. For reference, many utilise IPS or VA panels, such as the similarly-named AW3425DWM. By contrast, the AW3425DW leverages a QD-OLED panel sourced from Samsung Display with superior colour accuracy than its IPS or VA counterparts.
To that end, the Alienware AW3425DW boasts 99.3% DCI-P3 colour space coverage, which it complements with 1,000 nits peak brightness (3% APL) and VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification. Dell adds that the Alienware AW3425DW also outputs natively at 3,400 x 1,440 pixels with a 110 PPI pixel density and an 1,800R curvature, just like the AW3423DW before it (curr. $899 on Amazon).
However, the AW3425DW combines its 1,440p resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate for a 37% boost over the AW3423DW. In other words, Alienware's new 34-inch OLED monitor uses a Gen 2 QD-OLED panel; the AW3423DW launched with a Gen 1 variant instead. The AW3425DW features AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Nvidia G-Sync and VESA AdaptiveSync variable refresh rate technologies too, as well as the following ports:
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4
- 2x HDMI 2.1 (FRL)
- 1x USB Type-A 5 Gbps/downstream)
- 1x USB Type-B (5 Gbps/upstream)
- 1x USB Type-C (downstream/15 W Power Delivery/Data only
Dell has also included a stand that supports height, swivel and tilt adjustments, along with 100 x 100 mm VESA mounts for use with third-party stands. The AW3425DW will be available from April 29 2025 in the US for $799. Dell has not confirmed availability for other markets yet, though.
