A new ultrawide Alienware monitor has landed with a curved 34-inch QD-OLED panel. Its Penta Tandem technology enables it to achieve a 1300-nit peak brightness without compromising text clarity. At a 3440 x 1440 resolution, a 280Hz refresh rate, and a low response time cater to esports pros.

Unveiled at Computex 2026, the Alienware AW3426DW arrived as a curved 34-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor. In the 21:9 ultrawide format, the display offers a 3440 x 1440 resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 280Hz. The manufacturer promotes its Penta Tandem technology as boosting brightness while reducing text fringing.

The AW3426DW OLED gaming monitor is launching worldwide, with a US price at Dell.com $799.99. Already having appeared at some retailers, EU pricing is €809, while UK buyers will pay £709.

Penta Tandem advantages

Benefiting from an efficient 5-stack Penta Tandem panel, the ultrawide option reaches a peak brightness of 1300 nits. Improving on the existing AW3425DW, Alienware lists its typical brightness at 300 nits. The vivid and accurate color palette of QD-OLED displays should be preserved. With DisplayHDR True Black 500 available, buyers can also expect a near-infinite contrast ratio.

The 280Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time of the 34-inch OLED monitor enhance competitive gaming. An esports mode downsizes its UWQHD 3440 x 1440 resolution to a viewable area of 24.5 inches. Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro further minimize any stuttering.

Familiar Alienware styling

The ultrawide AW3426DW sports a mild 1800R curve, but aims to immerse gamers nonetheless. An upgraded anti-reflective coating combats annoying glare. To match Alienware laptops and desktops, dashes of RGB lighting highlight a futuristic design.

For productivity, an RGB-stripe subpixel layout addresses the blurry text that plagues competitors. Connectivity consists of 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, a single DisplayPort 1.4 port, and a USB-C charging port with 15-watt power delivery. Unfortunately, the lack of KVM functionality is a drawback in congested setups.

The less power-hungry Penta Tandem panel promises to mitigate burn-in. This defect often pushes some buyers toward mini-LED or IPS alternatives. A graphite sheet spreads accumulated heat evenly to combat image retention. As with other Alienware OLED gaming monitors, the AW3426DW ships with a 3-year warranty with burn-in protection.
