Samsung Display develops world’s first 4K 360Hz QD-OLED for monitors

Samsung Display announced a new 31.5-inch QD-OLED monitor panel with 4K resolution and a 360 Hz refresh rate. The panel is set to be showcased at Computex 2026 in June. Previously, users had to choose between 4K at 240Hz or a lower QHD resolution to hit 360Hz; however, this monitor fixes this.  

Samsung Display says they were able to fix this by re-engineering the internal driving circuitry of the panel to deal with the increased data load. The panel also comes with a built-in dual-mode function. This feature enables users to decrease the resolution to 1080p and increase the refresh rate to 680Hz for applications that need a higher refresh rate.

It’s also the first monitor panel to pass the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 standard in terms of brightness and contrast, meaning it reaches a peak brightness of at least 600 nits while still maintaining deep black levels.

Samsung also changed the subpixel layout to a vertical "V-Stripe" format, where the red, green, and blue subpixels are aligned to improve text legibility and minimize edge blurring. Samsung Display expects to begin full mass production in the second half of 2026 and is collaborating with ten global tech brands to launch the panels.
