Alienware unveils a 39-inch 5K OLED gaming monitor with RGB stripe tandem tech

Seeking to evolve OLED gaming monitors, Alienware's new curved 39-inch option relies on RGB stripe tandem technology. The 5K display outputs 1300-nit peak HDR brightness, with a polarizer that preserves deep blacks even in well-lit rooms. Owners can choose between an ultrawide 5120 x 2160 mode at a 165Hz refresh rate or a 1080p/330Hz alternative.
Announced at Computer 2026, the AW3926QW Alienware monitor ships in late June in select Asian regions. North American and European buyers need to wait until the fall, with pricing details to come.
A modestly curved OLED
A 1500R curve on the 39-inch screen wraps around gamers enough to add immersion. Although a 5K monitor taxes most GPUs, competitive players can opt for a 330Hz refresh rate at a 2560 x 1080 resolution. Response time is measured at 0.03ms, with G-Sync and VRR minimizing tearing during frantic gaming.

The display combines an RGB stripe subpixel layout with a tandem OLED architecture. Employing four red, green, and blue layers allows it to output an above-average 1300 nits. As a result, the curved monitor should handle abundant ambient light without impacting image clarity. A glossy anti-reflective coating also counteracts glare.
DisplayHDR True Black 500 facilitates near-infinite contrast while avoiding halos around brighter objects. Dolby Vision, which is not an option on many alternatives, is another way to expand color palettes. Alienware advertises DCI-P3 99% color coverage for the accuracy that creators demand.
A focus on sharper text
Many QD-OLED panels struggle with text fringing, a drawback in otherwise sharp images. Fortunately, the RGB stripe layout on the AW3926QW enables it to render crystal-clear text. Productivity is further boosted by an integrated KVM switch and generous connectivity. The OLED monitor offers a single DisplayPort 2.1, two HDMI 2.1 ports, and a USB-C charging port with 90-watt power delivery.
Adaptive AI algorithms can help avert burn-in on the likely pricey ultrawide 5K OLED gaming monitor. For added peace of mind, buyers will receive the same 3-year warranty as other Alienware models.
