TCL launches new Mini LED gaming monitor with dual-mode 1080Hz refresh rate

TCL has launched the 27P2A Ultra in China, and it's a step-up from the Pro model that the company previously released globally. This new gaming monitor features a dual-mode Mini LED display, capable of offering up to 1080Hz refresh rate.
While that sounds impressive, the catch is that the panel can only reach that in the 720p mode. For a 27-inch monitor, this HD resolution could be an issue, but the good part is that the monitor can also operate at the QHD resolution with a 550Hz refresh rate, which is also impressive.
The company further highlights its Tmoc Super Dynamic Sharpness technology. It's said to enhance brightness, sharpness, and details of the outputs. TCL also touts that the MPRT-Plus dynamic effects will eliminate motion blur and reduce ghosting.
As for the brightness rating, this TCL gaming monitor is said to reach 800 nits, and it comes with the DisplayHDR 600 certification. There's DC dimming and other comfort-focused features to ensure comfortable viewing during long sessions.
For the professionals, this Mini LED monitor is said to cover 95% of the DCI-P3 and 99% of the sRGB color space. So, it can act like a somewhat color-accurate display for professional tasks.
Other highlights include an adjustable stand, support for FreeSync Premium and G-Sync, and a sleek design. The TCL 27P2A Ultra has launched in China with a price tag of CNY 3,999, about $588. There's no official word on an international release yet, but the company did bring the Pro model to the global market (27G64 curr. $299.99 on Amazon).
