Philips has revealed a new 240 Hz OLED gaming monitor backed by RGB Q-Stripe technology. Spanning 32-inches, the Evnia 32M2N8900X surpasses its predecessor in several areas.

Philips has expanded its Evnia gaming monitor with a new QD-OLED model. To recap, the company released the Evnia 27M2N5500XD at the start of the year with a 540 Hz IPS panel to rival OLED alternatives like the LG UltraGear OLED 27GX790B (curr. $999 on Amazon).

By contrast, the new Evnia 32M2N8900X features the same underlying Gen 3 QD-OLED panel technology as the Evnia 32M2N8900 before it. To that end, the Evnia 32M2N8900X outputs at 4K (3,840 x 2,160) with a 16:9 aspect ratio, a circa 140 PPI and a 240 Hz refresh rate. Likewise, Philips' new monitor delivers 99.5% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB colour space coverage.

To distinguish the pair, the Evnia 32M2N8900X adds an anti-reflective coating (ALGR) rated to 3H of hardness and an RGB Q-Stripe sub-pixel layout. Also, the Evnia 32M2N8900X is 20% brighter than the Evnia 32M2N8900 in SDR mode with 300 nits full panel brightness. Enabling HDR mode increases peak brightness to 515 nits across 10% of its panel (10% APL) and 1,000 nits in small areas (3% APL) for which the monitor has received DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification.

Moreover, the Evnia 32M2N8900X contains three-sided Ambiglow, 5 W stereo speakers and a built-in KVM switch. On top of of that, Philips has included DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, USB Type-A, USB Type-B and USB Type-C ports. Please note that the monitor's primary port can charge connected devices at up to 65 W. Philips has only presented the Evnia 32M2N8900X in China so far. Pricing and availability for other markets remain unknown for now.
