LG releases new 2304 zone Mini LED gaming monitor before full global launch

A few months have now passed since LG last shared more details about the UltraGear Evo 27GM950B. To recap, the monitor joined the UltraGear Evo 52G930B (curr. $1,999 on Amazon) and the UltraGear OLED 39GX950B in December 2025 before being showcased as a trio during CES 2026.
In January, LG teased that the UltraGear Evo 27GM950B was on the verge of being released in Japan. While that did not come to pass, LG has now opened pre-orders for its latest 27-inch gaming monitor in the US. For reference, the UltraGear Evo 27GM950B is significantly cheaper than the UltraGear OLED 39GX950B that is also now available in the US.
Arguably, the highlight of the UltraGear Evo 27GM950B is its 2,304 Mini LED backlight zones, which allow it to reach 750 nits in SDR mode. Alternatively, the monitor can hit 1,250 nits in some areas when HDR mode is enabled. Also, the UltraGear Evo 27GM950B combines a 165 Hz refresh rate with a 5,120 x 2,880-pixel resolution that LG advertises as 5K and 5K2K.
Moreover, the monitor supports Dual Mode technology to reach 330 Hz while dropping its resolution to 1080p. LG has set US pre-order pricing at $1,199.99 with deliveries set for early May. Also, the company is offering an LG Premium Care 2-year plan for $1 until May 3. Please see LG's website for more information.
