Deal | 300 Hz QD-Mini LED monitor under $150: TCL G64 25-inch gaming monitor is now on sale at Walmart

Gone are the days when you had to settle for low-contrast, washed-out, and slow gaming monitors if you couldn’t spend hundreds of dollars. As display technology has become cheaper, gaming monitors have also become cheaper, resulting in affordable monitors with super-high refresh rates with Mini LED backlighting.
For instance, TCL, known for its TVs, introduced the cost-effective TCL G64 as the company’s first gaming monitor in the US last year. The 25-inch version of the monitor is now on sale at Walmart at a $302 discount compared to the full list price. As such, you can now get the TCL G64 with a 25-inch QD-Mini LED panel and 300 Hz refresh rate for just $148.
To put this price into perspective, you’ll have to spend $145 to get the cheapest 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD currently available on Amazon, which both shows the value of the TCL G64 and the sorry state of SSD prices.
Delving deeper into the specs of the TCL 25G64, the 25-inch monitor has an FHD resolution, QD-Mini LED backlighting with 180 Local Dimming zones, a 300 Hz refresh rate, and AMD FreeSync/Nvidia G-Sync. TCL also advertises the monitor with 97% DCI-P3 coverage, 600 nits of Max HDR brightness, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio without Local Dimming enabled, and a 6,000,000 dynamic contrast. The monitor also boasts a 1 ms GTG response time and is color accurate with an advertised deltaE of less than 2.
Finally, the TCL G64 features tilt, swivel, and pivot support as well as two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DP 1.4 display connector. There are no built-in speakers, which is fine for such an affordable monitor. Fortunately, there are plenty of budget-friendly options available on Amazon.
When it comes to the quality of the TCL G64 gaming monitor, the 27-inch QHD version of the TCL G64 did quite well in TotallyDubbedHD’s testing. It covered a wide color gamut, proved to be color accurate, and displayed plenty of contrast for deep blacks. The response time of the monitor was also quite good. The same was true for both HDR and SDR brightness.
In short, while FHD resolution might be a little soft for some people, the 25-inch TCL G64 with its fast 300 Hz refresh rate, QD-Mini LED backlight, and amazing price is a pretty awesome deal.
