Rockstar is recruiting new game testers in India. Since QA roles like these become especially important in the final phase of development, that could be a good sign for the release of GTA 6.

Rockstar Games is apparently looking for new testers in India – and it is conceivable that this is related to GTA 6. The starting point is a LinkedIn post by recruiter Priyanka Mourya from March 20, 2026, in which she is looking for “talented Game Testers” to strengthen Rockstar’s studio in Bangalore. An on-site recruiting event has also been announced for April 18, 2026.

The advertised position is for an “Associate QA Tester” in the “Game Functionality” department – effectively a game tester for quality assurance. The job involves playing the game on various platforms, searching for bugs and documenting them. According to the listing, Rockstar is primarily looking for people who know games well and ideally are also familiar with Rockstar’s more recent titles. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, should have experience with current consoles or gaming PCs, and must have good written English skills. Anyone considering applying should also note that this is a full-time position that can only be performed on site at Rockstar’s studio in Bangalore, India.

A sign that the release is on schedule

Game testers are typically needed when a title is largely finished and entering a final polishing phase. That fuels hopes that Rockstar will meet its targeted November 2026 release window. However, that is not a guarantee. A final testing phase for a mammoth project like GTA 6 can still take quite some time. There is also no official confirmation that the testers are being hired specifically for GTA 6. Still, the assumption seems very plausible, as no other Rockstar project is currently known. In addition, Obbe Vermeij, former technical director at Rockstar North, has already stated that titles such as Project Z and Bully 2 were shelved in favor of the successor to GTA 5 (currently $27 on Amazon).
