To avoid GTA 6 release date delay, Rockstar employee leaks unrealistic demands in review

The industry could avoid another GTA 6 release date delay, but it may come at the expense of Rockstar Games employees. A new review on the Glassdoor job site sheds light on recent working conditions at the studio. The India-based worker complains about unrealistic demands as a time crunch intensifies.
The pressures of a Rockstar employee
On social media, GTA 6 Countdown shared the review, which was added on May 1st. Fans should view this latest leak with caution, since it may be possible to post fake evaluations on the site. Nevertheless, the comments reflect the typical struggles of a studio under pressure to finish a project.
The worker serves as a QA analyst in Rockstar Games’ Bengaluru offices. Among other duties, this position requires extensive testing of new titles and hunting for bugs. The employee refers to the “most anticipated entertainment project in the world”, which surely is the next Grand Theft Auto.

One negative listed in the review is the expectation of long hours, including unpaid overtime. This accusation is familiar to the developer, particularly in the Red Dead Redemption 2 era, as Kotaku documented. QA testers reported working up to 100 hours a week, sometimes without compensation for the extra effort.
In recent years, the company acknowledged the time crunches, but insisted that overtime was optional. Regardless, this Rockstar employee feels obligated to work to the point of exhaustion. The Glassdoor poster mentions not leaving the office until 3AM, after finishing tasks that “usually take 5-6 months in 2-3 months.”
How likely is another delay?
If this GTA 6 leak is legitimate, it appears that Rockstar fears the implications of a third postponement. The QA analyst notes that the “work schedule has been hectic since last month.” This strain has impacted the individual’s “mental health”, with senior leadership offering no relief.
While a GTA 6 release date delay has become less likely, there may also be little margin for error. After what seems like an endless wait, fans and investors will be less sympathetic to the studio’s struggles. With Take-Two Interactive's next earnings call on May 21st, gamers hope to see a marketing push begin and see a third trailer.
