Journalist told GTA 6 release date delay is unlikely, as wait for Rockstar news continues

As the November 19th GTA 6 release date approaches, hopes of avoiding another delay are growing. Dan Dawkins, former GamesRadar Editor-in-Chief, believes the Rockstar game will appear on schedule. In a new podcast, he explains that industry sources are the basis for the prediction. Along with co-host James Jarvis, Dawkins also discusses when the third GTA 6 trailer could surface.

Might gamers have seen the last GTA 6 delay?

In the GTAVIoclock podcast, Dawkins says, “I'm pretty confident from the things that we've been hearing that there's no delay incoming.”

With endless leaks, it’s difficult to determine which reports are credible. Still, he assures viewers that he is not being “preposterously gung-ho.” Instead, the information originates from connections in gaming media. As a result, his “levels of confidence have grown” in a November debut.

With a summer marketing campaign planned, time may be running out for Rockstar Games to announce another GTA 6 release date delay. Nevertheless, some fans have become anxious for Take-Two Interactive to confirm its next earnings call.

The publisher revealed past postponements for the game during or shortly before the financial update. Typically, one of the quarterly reports happens in mid-May, with advanced notice of a month. Yet, so far, investors remain in the dark about this year's timing.

Timing for the third trailer

Despite some concerns, Dawkins isn’t alarmed that Take-Two hasn’t set a date. He speculates that the news could come as early as April 22nd, with an earnings call on May 14th. One reason for the extra wait may be that Rockstar is putting the finishing touches on trailer #3. Ideally, the developer will unveil the video a few days ahead of the call, kicking off marketing efforts.

Fans aren’t the only observers constantly refreshing social media for any updates. Competing publishers are desperate to avoid launch windows that conflict with the GTA 6 release date. With record sales expected, Microsoft reportedly could ship its Fable reboot either before November or push it to 2027.
