GTA 6 is scheduled for release on November 19, if there are no more delays. The leaks and rumors, however, have been coming in non-stop and a few days ago, a Reddit post made some borderline unbelievable claims.

The internet has been flooded with GTA 6 leaks and rumors as Rockstar has chosen to stay tight lipped about the upcoming game. Besides the two trailers, the only other information that has come officially is delays. While no more delays are expected, rumors continue to flow and a post on Reddit by someone claiming to be a former Rockstar employee shared an unbelievable level of detail said to be coming with GTA 6.

Prelude..

Before moving on to the post, some context. The post by a user named ‘Disastrous_Suit5731’ on the r/GTA subreddit was created 10 days ago. This is the only post by the user who has been on Reddit for five years. They claim to have worked at Rockstar from late 2020 but left in recent past due to “personal reasons and a career change.” And, majority of the commenters don’t believe it. That being said, here’s what the post claims.

The claims..

The user claims to have seen the game up close and compares it to The Last of Us Part II in terms of its realism, weight, and feel, but set in an open world. The world feels alive whether the player is present or not. The NPC interactions have been greatly improved even over Red Dead Redemption 2, as in GTA 6, players will be able to use a lot more than the basic conversation options. There is apparently a custom text option wherein players can type something and NPCs will respond contextually. The NPCs also have unique personalities and memories.

There is a realistic risk and reward system for stealing and crime, wherein the more valuable the target, the more planning will be required. Small details will also matter and the world will react to how the player choses to operate.

Airports and other building internals in GTA 6 will be a lot more accessible and realistic. There will be NPCs with unique behaviours, just like you would see at a real-life airport. Supermarkets are massive and will have NPCs working the registers. Some other enterable buildings will include malls, hotels, clothing stores, adult stores, sneaker stores, pet shops, and more.

The user adds that the map has story-based regions inspired by Cuba, Puerto Rico, and other Caribbean areas. These areas will be unlocked as you progress through the story. Lastly, phones in GTA 6 will be like real life phones where players can check social media apps, manage contacts, text NPs, and more. Players will also be able to leave comments on social media posts.

The reception..

While some of the information shared by the user has been mentioned in previous leaks, the rest seems a bit unbelievable. And that’s where the commenters stand as well, questioning the accuracy of the features and the credibility of the poster. A couple of commenters have also pointed out that the typing text to chat with NPCs will not work because that would involve the use of generative AI, which the studio has denied. Also, since the game is releasing on console first, typing out conversations will be more troublesome than immersive.

The overall consensus is that some of the features mentioned are just too farfetched and unrealistic to be included in GTA 6. Maybe that’s another reason why there hasn’t been much traction to the post, even though it’s been live for 10 days.

As mentioned earlier, some of the information like the detailed building internals, more enterable buildings, and versions of social media apps has been brought up before. The accuracy of the rest of the details, only time will tell.
