Have a baby, get GTA 6 for free: Promo campaign kicks off nine months before GTA 6 release

While France wants to boost population growth by sending a letter to all 29-year-olds, the Norwegian online retailer Komplett.no has different ideas. The retailer intends to give every customer who has a baby on the planned release date of Grand Theft Auto 6, which is currently November 19, 2026, a free copy of GTA 6.
Since this campaign launches a little over nine months before the game’s release, there is still time to take part. With maternity or paternity leave, there would even be time to play the probably very large open-world game. Even if GTA 6 costs $100, a child will certainly cost far more, so this decision should be carefully considered.
A Norwegian electronic store is giving away GTA 6 for free to the lucky ones that give birth the same date as the release.

Reddit user Lujah has spotted this campaign on a poster in the city of Oslo. The Instagram video embedded below confirms that it is not a joke and that customers who have a baby on November 19 will actually receive GTA 6 for free. The online store is not advertising the promotion just yet, so the fine print is not available, but it is likely that only Komplett.no customers in Norway can participate.
It is also unclear how this promotion would be affected if GTA 6 is delayed for a third time and does not actually launch on November 19, which could be upsetting if gamers end up having a baby for nothing. GTA 6 will first launch for PlayStation 5 (from $498 on Amazon) and Xbox Series X/S, with a PC version likely to follow later. More details on GTA 6 can be found on the game’s official website.
