GTA 6 leak gives a glimpse of Vice City, courtesy of a former Rockstar Games employee

Fans are currently debating whether the latest GTA 6 leak is legitimate. On Instagram, the new footage features a bridge in a Leonida map with passing traffic. Vice.city.alligator claims that an ex-Rockstar Games developer shared the video four years ago.
Vice City seen from another angle
In the capture, viewers see a camera panning across the structure with another bridge in the distance. A truck drives across the elevated roadway, as a boat speeds along the adjacent waterway. Traffic is also moving on the second bridge on the horizon. Adding to the immersiveness, a jet is flying above, leaving a trail of smoke.
Unlike some other clips and screenshots, the source provides details on how it was obtained. He recounts that two weeks before the massive 2022 GTA 6 leak, a former Rockstar Games employee recorded the video from an office PC. His friend was eager to show off the work in progress, but the poster forgot about the message until recently.
Remarkably, the bridge footage sat dormant on a smartphone for more than four years. Vice.city.alligator explains that its poor quality is due to a compressed email attachment.
More generative AI trickery?
In an age when generative AI can create convincing forgeries, it’s difficult to verify the leak’s authenticity. Still, after comparing it to previous GTA 6 trailers, some fans see consistencies. Regardless, even at a lower resolution, the level of detail is impressive. One Redditor noted how the bridge looks inspired by the Venetian Way in Miami.
Recent reports suggest that with the GTA 6 release date eight+ months away, Rockstar has increased its already tight security. Yet, developers come and go, as witnessed when it terminated 30+ employees for allegedly breaking NDAs.
In December 2025, a one-time animator for the company appeared to have mistakenly uploaded mo-caps of a city bike and a pickup truck. Whether intentional or not, similar leaks are likely to surface.
