The Nintendo Switch 2 has been selling well since its spring debut. Still priced at $449 or $499 as part of the Mario Kart World Bundle, the Switch 2 is already said to have surpassed 10 million units by the end of September. With strong sales and vastly superior performance on offer, triple-A developers are finally taking Nintendo's hybrid console platform seriously.
For example, CD Projekt Red delivered Cyberpunk 2077 as a Switch 2 launch game (curr. $67 on Amazon). Meanwhile, Take-Two have been rumoured since the start of the year to be 'developing a more positive opinion about Switch consoles', the fruits of which currently being Civilization VI on Switch consoles and a delayed Borderlands 4 port.
Now, Nash Weedle claims to have received confirmation that Rockstar is developing a Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) port for the Switch 2. Writing on X, the leaker states that a Switch 2 port is not the most recent delay to November 2026. In fact, a Switch 2 release is unlikely to align with the game's Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5 launches.
In other words, it sounds like GTA VI would not be ready for the Switch 2 until 2027 at the earliest. For context, Nash Weedle has a relatively good reputation for Switch 2 leaks, whether that be an Elden Ring release or DLSS support. Weedle is not infallible though, so we would take the tweet embedded above with some speculation for the time being.
