Panasonic Japan has unveiled the SoundSlayer x Final Fantasy XIV edition surround-sound neck speaker (SC-GNW10S-FF). The wireless speaker has an MSRP of 35,200 yen (~$230) and is scheduled for release on December 11, 2025, in Japan.
The collaborative model comes in a specially illustrated box that has a map of the FF world on the back. The black body of the speaker is decorated with the job icons available to FFXIV characters, and the main LED indicator light can be switched to one of three roles—DPS, Healer, or Tank. Startup and mode switching are customized with original FF melodies and sounds. The transmitter is decorated with a Meteor illustration.
The neck speaker is shaped to fit around the neck. Four 38 mm cone drivers produce 4.0 surround sound, with a total system power of eight watts, for immersive gameplay for up to nine hours between charges, according to Panasonic. Two AI noise-canceling MEMS microphones are also included.
A 2.4 GHz wireless transmitter is used to enable low-latency sound playback. A USB or 3.5 mm cable is used to connect the transmitter to source devices. The SC-GNW10S-FF is compatible with Windows PCs, PlayStation 4 & 5 consoles, and the Nintendo Switch. It measures 256 x 56 x 221 mm (10.1 x 2.2 x 8.7 in.) and weighs 403 g (14.2 oz.).
Interested readers in Japan can pre-order the SoundSlayer x Final Fantasy XIV edition neck speaker at the Panasonic store.
