Sony has unveiled the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Japanese Language model (CFI-2200B01) on November 12, 2025, the fifth anniversary of the PS5. The 55,000 yen (~$350) system is exclusive to the Japanese market and will be released there on November 21. The PS5 Digital Edition in the USA costs more due to recent tariffs.
The two number fives in the price can also be pronounced "Go Go" in Japanese, which is used in the company's latest PS5 ad. PlayStation Network account holders in Japan can also receive a 10% off coupon for use in the PlayStation Store in Japan (see details in Japanese here) as part of Sony's "Go!Go!PS5" anniversary campaign.
The PS5 Digital Edition Japanese model has a slightly revised case, with a matte surface texture. Japanese is the only system language available, and Japan is the only country/region that can be set. PS5 and PS4 games can be downloaded to an 825 GB SSD, with online game purchases coming only from the PlayStation Store in Japan. The unit comes with Astro's Playroom preinstalled.
The special edition model measures 358 × 80 × 216 mm (14.1 x 3.1 x 8.5 in.) and weighs 2.5 kg (5.5 lbs.). A DualSense wireless controller, HDMI cable, USB cable, and power cable are included. The console is compatible with PS5 CFI-2000 model accessories, such as the external disc drive. Its other specs are the same as a standard PS5 Digital Edition.
Other anniversary-related sales and announcements are forthcoming on the PS5 anniversary campaign website in Japanese.
