After unceremoniously stealth dropping its PlayStation-branded speakers at an earlier State of Play, Sony has unveiled yet another piece of hardware in a similar fashion. This time, it is an entire gaming monitor, which, at the time of writing, will launch only in the US and Japan, with no price specified for either market starting in 2026.
The PlayStation gaming monitor's salient feature is an integrated charging dock for DualSense controllers. It is retractable and sits beneath the panel, but it has to be purchased separately. Other specs include a 27-inch QHD (2,560 x 1,440) IPS LCD panel with a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz on PC/Mac with VRR support. The PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro will be restricted to 120 Hz. HDR is also supported, but Sony hasn't mentioned which version.
For I/O, the PlayStation gaming monitor offers two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DP 1.4 port, two USB-A ports and one USB-C port for PlayStation Link devices. It will allow the monitor to interface with existing PS Link devices such as earbuds, headphones and speakers.
