AOC has launched the U27U3XD, a new 27-inch monitor that was initially introduced in June 2025. As we covered earlier, it has two distinct modes, allowing users to choose between high refresh rate and high clarity on the go. It launched in China with a tag of CNY 1,796, around $252.
For those who missed our previous coverage, the AOC U27U3XD can operate at the FHD and 4K resolutions. However, the refresh rate doesn't remain the same in the two modes. In the former, it's more of a competitive gaming monitor, with a 288 Hz refresh rate.
When in the 4K resolution, the refresh rate of the monitor drops to 144 Hz, but with higher clarity, this mode is more suitable for professional workloads. Speaking of which, the AOC U27U3XD has a 27-inch IPS panel with 100% sRGB and 98% DCI-P3 coverage.
For gamers, there's support for Adaptive-Sync, which offers Nvidia G-Sync compatibility. Unlike the U27U3X, the U27U3XD doesn't have support for AMD FreeSync. There's a rich selection of connectivity ports as well, including:
- 2x HDMI 2.1
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4
- 1x USB-C with DisplayPort Alt
- 4x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
- 1x USB upstream
- 1x audio out
It's worth noting that the USB-C port of this gaming monitor has support for DisplayPort Alt and 90 W PD, allowing a single cable connection with compatible laptops and PCs (20 Gbps 3.3-feet Silkland 240 W USB-C cable curr. $12.59 on Amazon). Other highlights include a built-in KVM module, VESA wall mount support, a brightness rating of 450 nits, and multiple eye protection features. AOC is expected to launch the U27U3XD in the global market soon.
