Sony has shown off a new set of speakers at its PlayStation State of Play. The PlayStation Pulse Elevate is a new addition to the company's Pulse line of accessories, and it is the first desk speaker to join the lineup. Sony has revealed only a handful of details about it, with no indication of how much it will cost.
The PlayStation Pulse Elevate comes with planar magnetic drivers that can emulate 3D surround sound in supported titles and an in-built subwoofer. It interfaces with consoles via PlayStation Link and can connect to a PS5, PS5 Pro and even PlayStation Portal. Alternatively, one can use the included dongle to connect it to their PC/Mac, similar to how other PlayStation Pulse accessories work.
Lastly, Bluetooth is also supported for smartphone connectivity. Sony has also included a microphone with noise cancellation baked in. In theory, the PlayStation Pulse Elevate can double up as a communications device, but you're better off using a headset. The speakers come with a charging dock and provide 'hours' of battery life. They will be available in Black and White colourways and will launch sometime in 2026.
