At first glance, the Edifier New Cyber speaker could easily be mistaken for a compact gaming computer. To create this look, Edifier has made the upper half of the case transparent and packed the power supply and electronics into two modules modeled after the shape of a graphics card. The RAM and two fans are simulated by a row of LEDs.
The thick, braided speaker cables are reminiscent of the ducts of a liquid cooling system, while the 2.8-inch touchscreen symbolizes the CPU cooler. This display can not only display graphics and animations but can even show the current CPU and GPU load as well as RAM usage of a connected computer, making the illusion even more effective. On the back of the speaker are a USB-C and a USB-A port, each capable of charging connected devices with up to 35 watts.
The lower half of the speaker houses two 52mm full-range drivers, a 100mm woofer, and two passive radiators to enhance the bass. Edifier also incorporates a 60-watt amplifier. The speaker can be connected to a PC or smartphone via a USB cable, AUX or Bluetooth 6.0.
