Edifier's new M130 speaker packs 16W peak power into a palm sized retro design

Edifier is tapping into the appeal of vintage aesthetics with its latest release, the Edifier M130, a retro-style mini Bluetooth speaker recently launched in China. Following the debut of its gaming-focused New Cyber speaker, the company is now offering a compact audio solution for those who appreciate a classic look paired with current technology. The M130 is positioned as an attractive option for users seeking a portable speaker that balances a nostalgic design with solid audio features, coming in at a competitive price of 299 yuan, or about $42.

The speaker’s vintage charm is clear from its palm-sized dimensions and weight of just 0.44kg. You can choose from five different finishes, including a Quiet Moss Green and a wood-grain option that adds to its classic look. The design is rounded out with a woven mesh front grille and piano-style keys that have a distinctive red-copper metallic finish. Inside this small package, Edifier has included its custom 48mm full-range driver and an 80mm x 40mm passive radiator. This setup delivers 8W of continuous power with the ability to reach a peak output of 16W, producing sound that is tuned for rich bass and clear vocals across different types of media.

The M130 uses Bluetooth 6.0 but if you prefer a wired connection or other media, you also have the option to use a TF card or the USB sound card input, which makes it easy to connect to a variety of devices like computers or projectors. The speaker also conveniently supports dual-device pairing, letting you switch between two sources without hassle. For a more expansive audio experience, you can also link two M130 units together wirelessly to create a true stereo sound setup.

To keep the music going, the M130 is equipped with a 2600mAh battery that offers up to 11 hours of playback at 80% volume and potentially up to 15 hours under more typical listening conditions. When it's time to recharge, it uses a standard USB Type-C port. You have full control over playback either through the physical keys on the device or via the Edifier Connect app. The app gives you access to volume controls, input switching, and a few different EQ modes tailored for music, parties, or audiobooks.
