Even though some analysts are confident in the November 19th GTA 6 release date, skeptics remain. Jason Schreier of Bloomberg appeared on a recent Button Mash podcast (relevant conversation starts after 4:00) to discuss the Rockstar Games project. He believes that the game could arrive on schedule, barring any unforeseen issues. However, the insider disputed a previous leak that the next GTA is “content ready.”
One of the more reputable sources, Schreier correctly predicted a prior GTA 6 release date delay. The same pattern may repeat itself, since according to the reporter, the title is “not content complete.” Besides just polishing their work, he said that developers are still “finalizing levels and missions.”
The latest revelations contradict statements from Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming. In November 2025, he claimed that the game was in a more finished state. Labeling a title as “content ready” comes after features such as gameplay mechanics are ready for a final build. Critical elements like the narrative and missions should also be past the conceptual stage.
Rockstar is apparently not done designing assets for a massive open world. Nevertheless, the situation may not be as gloomy as some gamers fear. The Bloomberg journalist is more hopeful than before prior postponements disappointed players. He explained that in those instances, his sources had expressed more pessimism.
GTA 6 developers have reason to be cautious
Rockstar unveiled GTA 6 in 2022, but it had likely been in the works for several years. Fans are understandably frustrated with the game’s slow progress. Even so, the insider urged patience on the podcast, as its developers strive for perfection. Considering how much Take-Two Interactive’s finances depend on a successful launch, the studio is unwilling to take risks.
While more optimistic than in 2025, Schreier can’t rule out another GTA 6 release date delay. He noted that the publisher’s fiscal year doesn’t end until March 2027, giving it some breathing room.
