Fans have been repeatedly frustrated by GTA 6 leaks that turn out to be fake. Finally, some legitimate video has surfaced, courtesy of a former Rockstar Games animator. Ahead of the GTA 6 release date, the animations focus on a major character and possible forms of transportation in the game.

With AI-produced GTA 6 trailers fooling many spectators, gamers now have real footage to obsess over. Either intentionally or by mistake, an ex-RockStar Games animator has shared work from the project. While the mo-caps aren’t polished enough for trailers, they hint at familiar gameplay elements.

Synth Potato informed readers about Benjamin Chue’s now deleted demo reel, which was posted on Vimeo two months ago. Chue assisted in many Rockstar Games titles, including Red Dead Redemption 2 and Max Payne 3. However, it’s the first 19 seconds of the demo that are drawing the most attention.

If the former employee hadn’t timestamped the video, fans might not have realized they were watching a GTA 6 leak. The first segment depicts a man getting on and off a bike, showcasing fluid animations. A “Lom Bikes” logo appears, likely imitating the public transportation offered in Miami. Now, many gamers anticipate this non-motorized option to be available when traversing Vice City.

The second GTA 6 clip involves a “breakout/ exit animation from Monster truck for female NPC.” Jumping into a truckbed and off the large pickup truck, the woman roughly matches the description of Lucia seen in official GTA 6 trailers. Players may expect to hitch a ride on similar vehicles in the final version of the game.

Rockstar is paranoid about any possible GTA 6 leaks

Considering Rockstar’s tight control over anything related to its titles, the public demo reel is more shocking.  In 2022, it pursued a hacker who obtained dozens of clips from an early GTA 6 build. The company also requires employees to sign strict NDAs to avoid spoiling marketing efforts. Recently, Rockstar fired over 30 employees for allegedly leaking confidential information.

Chue wants to advertise his talents to employers, but it’s unclear whether he risks the studio’s wrath. As an experienced artist, some gamers believe Chue wouldn’t have posted GTA 6 leaked footage without permission. Still, the fact that the Vimeo post has been removed may say otherwise.
