Ever since the release of Grand Theft Auto V in 2013, fans have been clamoring for the next entry in the legendary video game franchise. After countless leaks, Rockstar is finally going to drop the first trailer of the game on December 5 at 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (EST). However, this hasn’t stopped leakers from revealing details about the game this close to the official reveal.
For instance, we reported a couple of days ago that Sony might have secured marketing rights for GTA 6 on the PS5 (Available on Amazon) and could potentially bundle the game with the PS5 Pro. The rumor also alleged that the GTA 6 for PC could be delayed by one year vs the consoles.
Now, thanks to an alleged gameplay footage posted on TikTok (now deleted), we have a sneak peak at the GTA 6’s cityscape. The user who leaked the video allegedly knows Aaron Garbut, the co-studio head at Rockstar North which gives the leak some validity.
Moving on to the actual leak, the video which is pretty short and has poor quality shows a vast cityscape with high-rise buildings and highways, all standard stuff for a GTA title. More interestingly, the leaker later revealed via private DMs that GTA 6’s city is 2x larger than Los Santos of GTA V and will have a lake in the middle. GTA 6 also apparently enjoys a big leap in fidelity vs GTA V with 3 major cities, 4 sub-cities, and around 70% of the buildings being enterable.
Finally, the leaker alleged that the GTA 6 release date is set for sometime in fall 2024 and pre-orders will go live after the trailer.
As is the case with leaks of this nature, we have no way of verifying the validity of this information. So, take the information with a giant grain of salt.
