GTA 6: Rockstar announces exact release date of first official trailer
More than ten years have gone by since the release of the record-breaking fifth installment in the immensely popular Grand Theft Auto series. Even though developer Rockstar Games still provides regular content updates for the multiplayer part of its open-world game for consoles and PC, many fans are have been waiting more or less patiently for the release of the immediate successor, GTA 6.
Roughly one year after the spectacular gameplay leak, the UK-based game developer has now officially announced that the first official GTA 6 trailer will be released next Tuesday, December 5 at 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time in a corresponding newsletter and blog post. It remains unknown if we will get to see real gameplay or just cinematic impressions of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto. However, it appears as though fans can look forward to more footage until the eventual release of GTA 6 as the first video is simply called "Trailer 1".
Unsurprisingly, the tropical background picture in the announcement clearly indicates that GTA 6 will be set in Vice City, which is loosely based on the South Florida metropolis Miami. According to the aforementioned leak that was apparently conducted by a British teenager, the single-player campaign of the newGrand Theft Auto title will once again feature multiple playable characters. Instead of an entirely male group of career criminals, the story may revolve around a young gangster couple. It remains to be seen whether or not the eagerly awaited trailer will indeed confirm these details. Furthermore, Rockstar North could reveal a rough timeframe for the GTA 6 release date, which is rumored to be planned for 2024.
