Predator Orion X: Acer's compact but powerful gaming PC now orderable with launch discount
Acer is now selling the Predator Orion X, a powerful gaming PC that it revealed in April. To recap, the Predator Orion X measures just 336 x 257.5 x 179 mm (15.41 litres). Nonetheless, the gaming PC can be configured with up to a Core i9-13900KS and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU.
As we discussed in the spring, Acer separates the Predator Orion X's case into three zones, counter to many of its contemporaries. Theoretically, this should make the Predator Orion X easier to upgrade and maintain, with Zone 1 dedicated to the CPU, RAM and SSDs. By contrast, Zone 2 houses the machine's GPU and additional drive bays, while Zone 3 provides access to the Predator Orion X's cooling system.
Currently, the PC starts at €2,499 in the Eurozone with a Core i7-13700 (curr. US$386.98 on Amazon) and an RTX 4070 Ti GPU, as well as a 1 TB SSD and 16 GB of RAM. Conversely, the Predator Orion X is available in the UK for £3,799 but with a Core i9-13900KS, RTX 4080, 32 GB RAM and a 2 TB SSD. At the time of writing, Acer is including a £100 voucher for those who pre-order from Currys; please see Acer's website for more details.
