The Last of Us II Remastered: Roguelike No Return mode shown off in new trailer
Exactly why Naughty Dog chose to "remaster" The Last Of Us Part II, a three-year-old game, remains a mystery, more so when the visual upgrades seem marginal. Even though its visuals are only marginally better, there is some bonus in-game content one can look forward to. A new trailer shows off its "No Return" mode in detail.
The Last of Us II No Return is a Roguelike game mode that has players replay in-game areas with different characters (not just Abby/Ellie), which can be unlocked via main story progression. Its Roguelike nature makes for near-infinite possibilities, as now two runs will be identical. Naughty Dog also lets you add gameplay modifiers to spice things up a little more.
No Return, combined with the bonus (previously cut-out) areas of the map, will give players something to look forward to with The Last of Us Part II remaster. Thankfully, those who own the game's PS4 version (US$33 on Amazon) have to pay only US$10 for an upgrade. TLOU fanatics still have the option to buy its W.L.F (Washington Liberation Front) Edition for cosmetics, trading cards, and merchandise, along with a Steelbook.
