Naughty Dog has officially dropped the announcement and trailer of The Last of Us Part II Remastered edition. It will be available for PlayStation 5 on January 19, 2024, which is pretty much in line with what the recent leaks have suggested.
The remastered edition of The Last of Us Part 2 will bring many additions. But among all, the biggest one is the "roguelike survival mode" named No Return. This game mode is designed to give players a hard-core gameplay experience. As Naughty Dog describes, it will enable the gamers to "prove their mettle in randomized encounters and experience" the game's "combat in a fresh experience."
Gamers can also play The Last of Us Part II as some new characters in the remastered edition. It will make the players experience "various stealth and combat encounters that will pit" the gamers "against a range of enemies, with unique twists that can add new, unexpected factors to any given encounter."
Regarding technical upgrades, The Last of Us Part II Remastered will deliver a native 4K experience in fidelity mode. And in performance mode, the game will be run at 1440p, upscaled to 4K. It also brings an unlocked framerate option, which will work with TVs that support VRR (VIZIO 43-Inch M-Series 4K QLED with VRR support curr. US$$269.95 on Amazon).
In addition, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered brings DualSense features such as adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. You can also expect to enjoy improved loading times in the new edition of the game. To learn more, check out Sony's official announcement blog post.
