Deal | Acer Nitro 16 gaming laptop with AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS and RTX 4070 drops to $1,029.99

Most budget-friendly RTX 4070 laptops usually come with some kind of compromise, usually in the build and screen departments, but Acer’s Nitro 16 model is quite the exception this year. Featuring above average build quality and an excellent screen for its price point, the 2023 Nitro 16 gaming laptop happens to be discounted down to only $1,029.99 at Walmart, making for one of the best deals of this holiday season.

Some small compromises are still there, though, as the 16 GB RAM is capped at DDR5-4800 speeds and the storage capacity of the PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD is limited to 512 GB, but these can easily be upgraded. Acer compensates with a good 16-inch screen that features a 2560 x 1600 IPS panel with 165 Hz refresh rate, 3 ms response time, 500-nit maximum brightness, GSync compatibility and 100% sRGB color gamut.

Powering the system is an AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS with 8 cores and 16 threads clocked at max 4.75 GHz coupled with the RTX 4070 dGPU from Nvidia that features the maximum 140 W TGP and a MUX switch. While components of this caliber can be found on other budget-oriented builds, the Nitro 16 blows the competition away with features like a USB4 connector and a microSD card reader.

Port selection also includes 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, a USB 2.0, 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (DP+PD), HDMI 2.1 video out, audio combo jack and GbE jack. Wireless connectivity is provided through  Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.1 card. There is a 4-zone RGB keyboard, as well, and Acer packs a beefy 90 Wh battery that brings the total weight to 5.95 lbs (2.69 kg).
