Price leak: GTA 6 might be the most expensive game ever

Since the release of its first trailer, which has amassed over 245 million views and is one of the most-watched gaming videos ever, no game has been as highly anticipated as GTA 6. While fans are eager for more details on gameplay and a possible release date, one question stands out: How much will GTA 6 cost? A recent price leak may have already provided the answer.

On Brack.ch, a reputable Swiss online retailer, GTA 6 briefly appeared for pre-order at 99 Swiss francs (around $110). The listing was removed shortly after, but a Reddit thread captured the leak before the page disappeared. Whether this was the actual price or just a placeholder remains unclear.

Although the leak remains unconfirmed, a $100 price tag for GTA 6 wouldn’t be unrealistic. Michael Douse, Publishing Director at Larian Studios (Baldur’s Gate 3), previously speculated that the price of major games could rise to between $80 and $100. If Rockstar sets this price, it would be the first publisher to do so, potentially influencing the entire gaming industry and encouraging others to follow suit.

Community divided

The Reddit community is divided over GTA 6’s possible price. Many find it excessive and are unwilling to pay that much unless the game delivers enough content. Some plan to wait for a discount, while others are even considering skipping the purchase entirely or resorting to piracy.

Supporters argue that inflation justifies the price increase and that GTA 6 is a massive, high-quality project worth the cost.
