GTA 6 was originally scheduled to be revealed in fall this year but it was pushed back to May 2026. It was already one of the highly anticipated titles, if not the most anticipated, and it looks like excitement hasn’t died down yet. Leaks and rumors keep popping up, but the latest information seems to brings some bad news. It also shares some details on pricing and the different editions for GTA 6.
The leak comes courtesy of Millie A over at XCancel where they claim that GTA 6 could be delayed to September 2026, citing internal talks. The game has already been delayed once to May 2026 and September would add another four months to the timeline. It was believed that there will not be any more delays since Rockstar has shared an exact date and not a launch window. That might still be the case as commenters don’t really trust the reliability of this leak.
That being said, the leaker also claims that the standard edition for GTA 6 will cost £69.99, the deluxe will be priced at £89.99, and the premium will be priced at £109.99. On top of that, those who get the deluxe version will get early access to GTA Online while premium edition owners will get first access. This doesn’t mean GTA Online will release alongside GTA 6 and there could still be a two-week gap between the two, just like GTA V and the current GTA Online.
Fans and commenters are skeptical about the claims as the leaker seems to have been absent for some time, as far as leaks go. They also question how much the game would cost as some feel it will be a direct 1:1 conversion, so $70 in the US, while others believe it will be more on the lines of $80, like many newer AAA games and as predicted by a venture capital firm. As for the delay, if there was one, it would be too soon for Rockstar to announce it.
Regardless of when the game releases, analysts have predicted a massive overall investment from gamers to the tune of $7.6 billion in just 60 days after release, making it the biggest game launch of all time.
