The second trailer for GTA 6 became one of the most watched videos shortly after its release. That accolade was partly due to the respite that fans wanted after the delay announcement, and partly due to the story and gameplay reveal. As stunning as the footage looked especially compared to the previous GTA, it has been hilariously recreated in GTA 5 with Michael and Trevor as the protagonists.
YouTuber Gu1maz recently posted a video on their YouTube channel titled, “GTA 6 trailer 2 but it’s GTA 5,” and it’s exactly that. The footage shows Michael from GTA 5 as Jason from GTA 6 in the same scenes, or as close as possible, as the Trailer 2 for GTA 6. What’s more remarkable is that Trevor has been chosen to play Lucia, Jason’s (Michael) love interest. The creator has tried to recreate the same camera angles and character conversations as seen in the GTA 6 trailer.
The video ends with Michael calling out Rockstar, asking them to not delay the game again as fans have been waiting for over 10 years.
Rockstar decided to delay GTA 6 to May 2026 citing high quality standards and need for delivering the most polished experience possible. Soon after the delay announcement, a former GTA developer stated that there will likely not be any more delays since Rockstar shared an exact release date, rather than a vague time frame. However, a recent report from a Bloomberg journalist claimed that another delay is entirely possible.
GTA 6 is scheduled for May 26, 2026 and it will arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. The PC release is expected a year late, as was the case with GTA 5.
