Arguably one of the most highly anticipated games ever, GTA 6 is sure to set new standards for the gaming industry. The trailers have already shown how good the graphics will be and now a new leak hints at the game featuring the most realistic water physics. Rockstar has reportedly assembled a group of engineers dedicated just to make the water look and feel as realistic as possible.
As shared by VGT Gaming News on XCancel, Rockstar has put together a team of 20 engineers who are dedicated to water physics modeling. Not only will the game include water related activities like surfing, it will also bring hurricanes and floods. Furthermore, the post claims that for the first time in an open-world game, there will be dynamic high and low tides. It’s no surprise that Rockstar is putting in the extra effort to make environments look as realistic as possible. The evolution of the GTA franchise is evidence to that, with GTA V bringing an immensely detailed interpretation of Los Angeles.
The post also claims that the budget for getting the most realistic water physics is between $200 million and $300 million. It is believed that the overall budget for GTA 6 is over $1 billion, making it the biggest and most expensive game ever. That being said, it is also speculated that the game will generate $7.6 billion in 60 days after release with a base price of $80 per copy, so Rockstar and parent company Take-Two are expected to recuperate that budget fairly quickly.
The cost for the game remains unclear as speculations point to either a $70 or $80 price tag. What’s confirmed is that the game will launch May 26, 2026, if there are no more delays.
