Upcoming Epic Games Store free game for September 2025 revealed in new leak

Currently, Epic Games Store users can grab two free games for PC, which will expire on August 28, 2025, at UTC 15:00. After this, the storefront will offer two more freebies, and as we have covered, one of them is an award-winning side-scroller, while the other is a top-down racing title.

This last PC giveaway for August 2025 will also be available for some days of September, and when that ends, as a new leak has revealed, Epic Games Store will offer The Battle of Polytopia as a free game. This leak comes from credible leaker MeguminShiro, and the soon-to-be turn-based strategy freebie will be available from September 04 to September 11, ending at UTC 15:00.

The Battle of Polytopia is an award-winning game, receiving multiple accolades and awards from the Pocket Gamer Awards, PC Indie Pitch, Lovie Awards, IMGA, and more. At the core, it's a 4X strategy title in which players get to control a tribe with the primary goal of building a civilization. To do so, players need to explore the map, fight the enemy tribes, and master new technologies.

Players start with a small settlement and a unit, which grows as they explore the procedurally generated world. This soon-to-be free game on Epic Games Store has 12 different tribes, and each of them is differentiated by cultural traits and unique abilities.

As for the gameplay, it's regarded as simple, but there's a noticeable depth in exploration, farming, and building. There is support for single-player, which puts the players against AI, local multiplayer, and online matchmaking.
