Go Gamers, which conducts surveys in Brazil, recently polled 1,200 gamers about the popular Rockstar Games franchise. One of the more significant findings relates to the highly debated GTA 6 price. Despite income levels that make gaming challenging, 33.2% of gamers polled believe $100 for the game is justified.
According to Playroll, the average Brazilian earns approximately R$3,350 or $615 per month. Yet, gamers are willing to devote a significant portion of their funds to GTA 6. The survey reveals that the crime-themed adventure has broad appeal even among those who prefer other genres. Out of the 1200 gamers polled, about half of the respondents are preparing to support Rockstar Games on the GTA 6 release date.
A high percentage of Brazilian gamers are ready to pay between R$500 and R$600 ($92-$110) for GTA 6. Still, even many individuals who object to the cost intend to buy the game. Go Gamers believes that consumers will overspend to be part of the next cultural phenomenon.
In addition to lower incomes compared to most North American and EU countries, Brazilian gamers have already suffered price hikes. Some PS5 games, including Death Stranding 2, now demand $73. While only slightly higher than what U.S. consumers pay, it’s a much greater burden in the South American nation.
What the GTA 6 price will actually be is still an open question. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick explained that the publisher wants the game to offer strong value at its price point. Some analysts believe the title will cost no more than $80, and still earn the company record profits over its lifespan. Yet, surveys like the Go Gamers study suggest that many buyers would happily cross the $100 threshold.
