Despite the abundance of PS5 bundles, the PS5 Pro has yet to ship with a game other than Astro’s Playroom. That will soon change, according to leaker billbil-kun, who revealed an upcoming configuration with EA FC 26. The PS5 Pro bundle will debut on October 22nd in Europe, with availability in other regions not yet confirmed. However, this development may also open the door for a rumored GTA 6 bundle.
Billbil-kun shared the news of the new SKUs from Sony on social media. The PS5 Pro bundle with EA FC 26 will cost €799.99/£699.99, the same price as the system without a game in many European countries. Owners of less expensive PlayStation consoles won’t be left out. The retail insider expects a PS5 Digital option for €499.99/£429.99, and a standard PS5 alternative for €549.99/£479.99.
The new bundles will also ship on the revised PS5 Slim Digital model number CFI-2116, with only 825GB of storage. Similarly, the PS5 Pro bundle will include the updated CFI-7121 console, with any changes less certain. Like the EA FC 26 bundle, it’s unclear whether the new systems will be available outside of Europe.
GTA 6 could lead to a PS5 Pro sales surge
EA’s latest football title is a PS5 Pro Enhanced game, boasting higher graphical quality without compromising frame rates. Still, Rockstar Games’ GTA 6 could become the most compelling reason to upgrade to the console. With the game threatening to stress the Xbox Series X and PS5, players may need to accept a 30fps mode. Sony’s flagship system would offer a better chance to experience smoother visuals.
In July, another rumor surfaced about Sony engineers and Rockstar Games collaborating to optimize performance on the console. The title could employ the improvements to PSSR upscaling that Sony plans to introduce in 2026. The same reports also suggested that marketing teams intended to promote a GTA 6 PS5 Pro bundle. Amid complaints that the PS5 Pro Enhanced games like Silent Hill F don’t offer enough value, a GTA 6 bundle could change that perception.
