Rockstar has decided to delay GTA 6 once more to November 2026 to further polish the game. The developer wants to deliver an experience that will be loved and appreciated by players for years to come, just like GTA V. Now, it looks like things that even more ambitious with GTA 6 and other developers are going to take a lot of time to achieve what Rockstar has been able to do.
Reece Reilly, who interviews game developers and allegedly has sources close to Rockstar, claimed last week that the they have heard of some “super ambitious” things about GTA 6 that will place it in a class of its own. They state that it will take other developers more than 15 – 20 years to match what GTA 6 will deliver. It is known that Rockstar is building an expansive, highly detailed world, but the scale of things will only become evident once the game releases.
Reilly didn’t share exactly what was so “super ambitious” and we have no information about a GTA 6 Online yet. GTA V was released in 2013 and GTA Online came out the following month. More than 12 years later, Rockstar is still adding content to GTA Online to cater to its still very active user base. Of course, the developers would want to deliver something that exceeds what they were able to achieve with GTA V.
With the game being delayed a second time, it is unclear if Rockstar will stick to the new release date. A new trailer for GTA 6 was also expected and while there were several reports of it releasing around November 4 to November 8, the only update we got was news of the delay. An analyst recently stated that the delay was a “flex” and that it could lead to more revenue once GTA 6 ships.
