Ahead of the Take-Two Interactive quarterly earnings call, gamers had hoped for the third GTA 6 trailer. The update was far from positive, with Rockstar Games confirming another release date delay to Fall 2026. However, prominent leaker billbil-kun revealed that Rockstar will make another announcement on November 7th.
While the media appreciates any tidbits from the studio, billbil-kun has lowered expectations. His initial social media post hints that Rockstar will be recycling a past project or introducing a remake. The leaker doesn’t think the news is hype-worthy and is “something probably much people won't care about”. One clue is that any featured game won’t be a remaster.
Despite the warnings, gamers are predicting remasters that would draw headlines. One common request is a revamped version of GTA 4 for current-gen systems. The 2008 game is not available at all on the PS4 and PS5, although backward compatibility on Xbox consoles is an option. Other fans want GTA 5 to come to the Switch 2, but there have been no rumblings about a port.
If not a Rockstar remaster, then what?
Eliminating remasters rules out many expected Rockstar Games releases. Another trusted source, NateTheHate2, has repeatedly discussed an updated Red Dead Redemption 2. Still, besides being too high-profile, the game likely wouldn’t be considered a remake.
The Max Payne 1+2 Remake is one of only a few games besides GTA 6 that the studio acknowledges. Developed by Remedy Entertainment, a recent positive report suggested that it could arrive by the end of 2026. Even so, the series is worthy of more than a minor announcement.
Billbil-kun often previews physical items headed to retailers. Gamers may see a new console bundle with an old title, or a repackaged version of a less popular game. In any case, the news is not likely to satisfy fans disappointed about the GTA 6 release date delay.
