Released more than seven years ago, Red Dead Redemption 2 continues to impress players with its graphics thanks to the work done by Rockstar Games on textures and NPC animations. But while the game is already beautiful, it takes on a whole new dimension with an RTX 5090 and 8K resolution.
Digital Dreams, which had already done this with Skyrim in the past, has released a video highlighting this feature in Red Dead Redemption 2. And the least we can say is that the result is impressive.
Indeed, it is possible to see realistic lighting effects and nature that seems alive from different angles. The aesthetic of the water is also remarkable, with waves breaking against the rocks and creating sea foam, not to mention the realistic reflections of the sun on this surface. Cities also appear in a different light, with more detailed buildings and an incredible atmosphere.
But there are still a few flaws to report, particularly regarding shadows in certain areas of the map. As one user pointed out, they can completely disappear because of these mods, which can ruin the experience.
A configuration that is not accessible to everyone
Be careful, because not everyone will be able to enjoy such a magnificent game. Indeed, Digital Dreams has added more than 100 mods to its game. In addition, it has a pretty impressive configuration with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, an RTX 5090, 64 GB of RAM, and an 8K resolution.
Fortunately, there are other mods for Red Dead Redemption 2 that are compatible with less powerful configurations. And although the game is very beautiful in its original version, this could give it a new lease of life.
