The Lenovo Idea Tab Plus (RRP $289.99) also comes with an active stylus with 4096 pressure and tilt levels.
The 12.1-inch Lenovo IdeaTab Plus costs under $300 and offers many advantages over similarly priced tablets. The list of advantages is extensive: Buyers get more in terms of screen brightness, weight, charging speed and sound quality, as well as in the scope of delivery.

The Lenovo Idea Tab Plus is primarily aimed at students looking for an affordable tablet with a stylus for university use. However, anyone looking for an affordable tablet for web surfing and multimedia use can also take advantage of this offer.

Powerful competitors such as the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro or the Motorola Moto Pad 60 Pro are better suited for gaming. That aside, Lenovo has put together a good overall package in the Idea Tab Plus, which performs well in our review.

Also suitable for outdoor use

An IPS screen without annoying PWM flickering is standard in the $300 tablet price range, which is why the Idea Tab Plus also features one.

Moreover, the IPS display of our test unit is slightly brighter (up to 762 cd/m²) than similar-sized and similarly priced comparison devices, which is why the Lenovo tablet is also quite flexible in use. The Idea Tab Plus can also be used outdoors as long as you avoid direct sunlight.

Lightweight and cool tablet

In addition to its brighter display, another advantage is its low weight. At 530 grams, the Idea Tab Plus is lighter than average for a 12-inch tablet thanks to its sturdy and well-crafted aluminum casing.

Among the comparison devices, only the Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro can reasonably keep up, but it also weighs 571 grams, while other tablets weigh 600 grams or more. Combined with a very low operating temperature, namely a maximum surface temperature of 32.2°C, the Idea Tab Plus can be held for extended periods without becoming uncomfortably hot.

Fully charged in under 1.5 hours

The IdeaTab Plus also scores points for its charging speed and sound quality. Its 10,200 mAh battery can be charged with up to 45 watts, meaning a full charge cycle is completed in just 1 hour 21 minutes.

Last but not least, the Lenovo tablet impresses with powerful sound from four Dolby Atmos-compatible speakers, which even reproduces lower frequencies well, delivering rich sound quality by tablet standards.
