Alongside the RedMagic 11 Pro series, the company has introduced a refreshed colorway of the Gaming Tablet 3 Pro, which is available in the global market as the Astra. The refreshed colorway of the pad is called the Golden Saga, and it sports a design with black and gold accents.
Apart from the overall outlook, all the other aspects of the gaming tablet remain the same. That is, the tab still features the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and while it's not the latest and greatest SoC from Qualcomm, it's still well capable of handling heavy loads and games.
Another notable aspect of the RedMagic Astra is the cooling setup, which includes a cooling fan. As we noted in our review, this active cooler helps to prevent excessive throttling, a big highlight for gamers. We were also impressed with the display of the gaming laptop.
The 9-inch OLED panel of the RedMagic Astra comes with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 165 Hz refresh rate. Its battery runtime is quite good as well. More specifically, the tab lasted for over 12 hours during our test. There's support for 80 W fast charging, but the company doesn't include a power adapter in the box (160 W Anker Prime charger curr. $115.99 on Amazon).
Other highlights include loud stereo speakers, a fast USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, and decent camera performance. RedMagic hasn't confirmed whether the Golden Saga will make a global debut, but it already offers the Astra in the international market.
